In our own cosy Wulveringemstraat with protected heritage status, Beauvoorde Castle occupies a stately position. The Castle with its beautiful garden is mysteriously hidden behind centuries-old trees.
Wander around the neighbouring Moeren (marshlands) with its windmills, locks and canals, straight roads and steady westerly winds.
Or pop into the Open Air Museum Bachten de Kupe in Izenberge where you are transported back in time to a typical village of yesteryear.
In the market places of towns like Veurne, Diksmuide, Poperinge and Ypres, besides admiring the beautiful Flemish stepped gables, you can also stop to taste local delicacies…
Don’t forget to cross the border to French Flanders, where Flemish culture is tangibly present.
Lovers of mouth-watering beers are in for a treat: from well-known breweries such as West Vleteren and Sint Bernardus to little gems such as Deca Brewery in Woesten or Seasonal Brewery Vandewalle in Reninge. Go have a look (and a tasting) there!
In Fortem, 10 minutes from BeauVenue, you will find De Snoek, the only fully preserved brewery and malt house from the 19th century in Flanders, Wallonia and French Flanders.
The green and fertile meadows of the Westhoek provide delicious farm milk that is passionately processed into artisanal cheeses of character.
In Beauvoorde you will find De Beauvoordse Walhoeve and de Moerenaar , both less than 5 km from Beauvenue and ready to welcome you.

Of course, we cannot ignore the many cemeteries, Diksmuide with the Ijzertoren tower, Poperinge with Talbot House and Ypres with Flanders Fields Museum.
Beauvoorde is the perfect base to explore the region by bike: centrally located in the Westhoek, flat and with numerous well-marked cycling routes.
The holiday home is located on “Op ontdekking in Alveringem” and “De Moerenfietsroute”, but there are many other cycling routes in the area, all worthwhile!
We have secure bike storage with charging points for electric bikes and can put you in touch with bike rental companies.
Walkers can set out in peace and quiet, to the rhythm of their own cadence.
There are many signposted walking loops in the vicinity. Good for hundreds of kilometres of changing landscapes, beautiful views and quiet country lanes.
The towns also lend themselves perfectly to being explored on foot.
